NYX Fat Oil Body Oil Review: The Summer Glow I Didn’t Expect to Love

NYX is ready for summer, and apparently we need to be too.
I tried the NYX Fat Oil Body Oil in Caramelt Mami, and I did not expect to love it as much as I did. This is one of those products that looks pretty in the bottle, but once you put it on the skin, it really starts making sense.
It gives that bronzy, glowy, warm summer skin look. Not glittery in a messy way. Not too oily-looking. Just that pretty body glow you want on your shoulders, collarbones, arms, and legs when you’re going to the pool, going out, or honestly just going to work and still want to look cute.
Because let’s be real. We still want to look gorgeous at work too.

My take:
unexpectedly gorgeous, easy to wear, and perfect if you want a glow without a heavy fragrance
Worth it? Yes, especially in the mini size if you want to try it first.
The shade I tried is Caramelt Mami, and it gives a warm bronzy glow that instantly made me think of summer skin. This is the kind of body oil I’d wear with a tank top, sundress, swimsuit, linen set, or anything where your shoulders or arms are showing.
It makes your skin look more polished without making it look like you tried too hard.

How It Looks on the Skin
On the skin, Caramelt Mami gives a bronzy shimmer finish. It catches the light in a really pretty way, especially on the collarbones and shoulders.

over a swimsuit
with a summer dress
before a pool day or vacation dinner
It’s not one of those body glow products that only looks good in direct sunlight. It still gives the skin a pretty warmth indoors too.
The Scent
This smells so good.
It has that sweet, warm, caramel-type scent, but it is not as overpowering as some of the stronger summer body products. If you love that Brazilian Bum Bum-style warm gourmand scent but find it too strong or headache-inducing after a while, this feels like a nicer option.
It gives you the summer scent without taking over the whole room.
That was a big part of why I liked it. I love smelling good, but I don’t always want something so strong that I’m over it an hour later.
How I’d Use It
I’d apply this after lotion or on its own when your skin is clean and dry.
Use a small amount first, then build if you want more glow. A little goes farther than you think, especially if you’re applying it to your collarbones, shoulders, or arms.
For the prettiest look, I’d apply it to the high points of the body where light naturally hits:
the tops of the shoulders
down the center of the legs
across the collarbones
on the arms
a little on the chest
If you’re wearing light clothing, I’d let it settle before getting dressed. It is still a body oil, so give it a minute before putting fabric directly over it.
Mini Size or Full Size?
I got the smaller size for $9.99, and honestly, that is the perfect way to try it.
They do have a larger bottle, but if you’re not sure whether you’ll like body oil, shimmer, or the scent, the mini is the move. It lets you test the glow without committing to the full size right away.
And if you end up loving it, then you can go back for the bigger one.
Is It Worth It?
Yes. I didn’t expect to love it this much, but I do.
