KVD Good Apple Foundation Dupe for Mature Skin
KVD Good Apple Foundation Balm had its viral moment for a reason. When it worked, it looked smooth, full-coverage, and seriously pretty.
But foundation is one of those things where the hype only gets you so far. Your skin type matters. Your skin prep matters. Fine lines, texture, dryness, oiliness, and how much coverage you like all change the final result.
For me, KVD Good Apple was STUNNING. But I’ve also seen people say it settled into texture, creased in fine lines, or didn’t wear the way they hoped. So if you loved the idea of a balm foundation but weren’t sure it would work for your skin, I get it.
missed the KVD Good Apple viral moment?
now that the original KVD balm is harder to find in stores and finding your shade online can be hit or miss, I’d look at what foundation can still give you that smooth, balmy, skin-perfecting look now?

If you can still find it:
L’Oréal Age Perfect 4-in-1 Tinted Face Balm
price: around $12-$16
This was the original L’Oréal balm I loved as a KVD Good Apple alternative for mature skin.
It has a lightweight, creamy balm texture, gives buildable coverage, and leaves the skin looking softer and more radiant. It’s especially nice if you want your foundation to smooth without looking flat, dry, or cakey.
best for:
Mature skin, dry skin, normal skin, and anyone who wants a more forgiving foundation formula.
before you buy:
This one can be harder to find now, and shade availability may be limited depending on where you shop. So if you see your shade and you already know you love it, grab it. But if you can’t find it, I’d look at the newer True Match Hyaluron Tinted Balm instead.
the difference:
The Age Perfect balm feels more like the original mature-skin-friendly drugstore answer to KVD. The newer True Match Hyaluron Tinted Balm feels like the current version of that idea. (see below)

L'Oreal True Match Hyaluron Tinted Balm Foundation
price: $11.99-15.99
If you were interested in the KVD Good Apple balm because you wanted something creamy, smoothing, and easy to wear, this is the newer L’Oréal option I’d look at first.
The True Match Hyaluron Tinted Balm has that balm foundation idea, but it feels more current and easier to shop now. It gives light-to-medium coverage, has a radiant finish, and is made with skincare ingredients like hyaluronic acid, so it makes more sense for someone who wants coverage without that dry, heavy foundation feeling.
best for:
Mature skin, dry skin, normal skin, or anyone who wants light-to-medium coverage with a smoother, more hydrated finish.
tried + tested:
This is not going to be the same full-coverage moment as KVD Good Apple. It’s softer, lighter, and more natural-looking. But that’s also why it may work better if full-coverage balm foundations usually settle into your lines or texture.
If your skin does better with hydrating formulas and you want something that looks pretty without feeling like a mask, this is the one I’d try.
the difference:
KVD gives more instant full coverage. L’Oréal True Match Hyaluron Tinted Balm gives a softer, more everyday skin finish.
So if you wanted the drama of KVD, this may not be enough coverage. But if you wanted the smooth balm effect without the heaviness, this is probably the better everyday option.

CoverGirl & Olay Simply Ageless Foundation
price: $13-18
tried + tested:
If the KVD Good Apple Foundation or the Milani dupe feels too matte, too heavy, or too likely to settle into texture, this is the one I’d try instead.
The Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation has a creamier, more hydrating feel, so it gives the skin a smoother, softer look without feeling as dry. It still gives coverage, but it’s a little more forgiving if you have fine lines, wrinkles, dry patches, or texture.
best for:
Dry skin, mature skin, fine lines, or anyone who wants coverage without that overly matte foundation look.
before you buy:
The white Olay swirl can lighten the foundation once it blends into the skin, so you may want to consider going one to two shades darker than you normally would. Trust me on this one.
the difference:
This one is not an exact KVD texture dupe. It’s more of a “same full-coverage idea, better for drier skin” option. If you loved the idea of KVD Good Apple but didn’t love how it wore on your skin, this may be the better affordable alternative.
