Danessa Myricks Chrome Flakes Dupe for Under $7
If you love the look of the Danessa Myricks Infinite Chrome Flakes, but not the $28 price tag, this Wet n Wild find gives a very similar sparkly, color-shifting vibe for way less.

The Danessa Myricks version is known for that bold, flaky, multidimensional chrome finish. It’s the kind of product you tap onto the eyes when you want the makeup to look expensive without doing a full complicated eye look.
The Wet n Wild Chameleon Chrome Eyeshadow Foil gives that same fun, sparkly, light-catching effect for around $6.99, that’s more than $20 less!!
It’s definitely not be an exact formula match, but for the price difference? It’s a good little budget beauty find.

Chameleon Chrome Eyeshadow Foil
Shade: Matrix Moves
Price: $6.99
why it works as a dupe:
This is one of those dupes that makes sense if you’re after the look more than the exact formula. Both give that shiny, sparkly, dimensional chrome effect that catches the light.
I’d use it as a topper over a simple shadow, tapped onto the center of the lid, or even just on bare lids with mascara for an easy sparkly eye.…if you use the right application!
how to apply it
This is the most important part (and why this product has so many mixed reviews).
The Wet n Wild Chameleon Chrome Eyeshadow Foil works best when you tap it on with a flat brush instead of swiping it on with your finger.
Use a tiny amount, press it onto the the lid or over another shadow, then leave it alone once it sets.
It’s more of a chrome topper than a regular blendable eyeshadow, so don’t overwork it. If you keep rubbing, swiping, or trying to blend it like a normal cream shadow, that’s when it can start getting messy.
Also, Matrix Moves is one of the darker shades, and darker chrome shades can be a little more prone to fallout or flaking. I’d do your eyes first, then clean up before applying your foundation or concealer.
do you need eyeshadow primer?
My vote: no.
Wet n Wild says this formula as self-adhering, so it’s made to stick without needing a heavy base underneath. For most people, the best base is either a clean, dry lid or a fully dried-down eye primer if your lids get oily.
If you want to wear it over another eyeshadow, apply your regular eye primer first, let it dry, then apply your shadow. If your lids are oily, lightly set the primer with powder or a skin-tone shadow before adding anything else.
Then tap the chrome foil on top with a flat brush.
The key is to keep the layers thin and dry.
what to avoid
I would skip wet concealer, thick primer, sticky glitter glue, or anything too creamy underneath this one.
More tackiness is not always better with this formula. A sticky or creamy base can make it crease, transfer, bunch up, or look chunky.
So if you tried it and hated it, it may not be the product. It might just need a different application.
Think: tiny amount, flat brush, press don’t swipe, and leave it alone once it sets.
final thoughts
If you already love Danessa Myricks and want the full high-end formula, that still makes sense.
But if you just want the chrome-flake look for a night out, a festival look, vacation makeup, or a fun little drugstore find, the Wet n Wild version is absolutely worth a look.
High-end effect, drugstore price.
